Lynda dethroned!! After the crowning of Linda Snippe as the new Miss Holland there were soon rumours about the way she was chosen. Many thought it was strange that the backup candidate from the Miss Holland 1974 pageant could be crowned as Miss Holland one year later. Also some of the members of the jury said to be surprised to hear Linda's name as the new Miss Holland, they al had voted for Ellen Soeters who only became the 4th runner up. But Linda could keep the crown and went to El Salvador to the Miss Universe pageant. Linda should also go to the Miss Europe pageant, but due to the civil war in Lebanon (host country for the Miss Europe pageant) this pageant never took place. After the Miss Universe pageant Linda Snippe was angry with the Miss Holland commitee because as she said she never received the money that was promised to her for her trip to El Salvador. The organisation did not like all the bad publicity and dethrowned Miss Snippe and gave the title to Cora Kitz. 
Cora represented Holland at the Miss Benelux pageant together with Barbara Ann Neefs and Nanny Nielen (all three seen hitch-hicking to the Miss Benelux pageant on the picture on the right) and at the Miss International pageant in 1976.
Remember way back when... In 2008 MissHollandnow.com was asked by IDtv to help them to create an episode for a new television programme. Their idea was to reunite people who had not been in contact with each other for a long time. The program would start with a photograph from the past showing these people. For this episode they decided to start with a picture of the top 5 of the Miss Holland pageant in 1975 (seen on the top of this page). Then we meet the beauty queens showing us what they have been doing since 1975. On a cold day in 2008 the women met in the Kurhaus in Scheveningen, where the Miss Holland pageant took place back in 1975. We from MissHollandnow.com had the honour to be there as well and meet with these lovely women and listen to their stories. Unfortunately the program will not be broadcasted.
