04-07-2010, Kaatsheuvel. In the theatre of the enchanted forrest of the Efteling, 12 Cinderellas competed for the Miss Nederland 2010 crown. Who fits the crown so lovely worn by Miss Nederland 2009 Avalon-Chanel Weyzig? And for whom would this fairytale come true. The show was amazing. We saw popstar 2008 winner Brandy open show with a great performance of "Listen" from the musical "Dreamgirls". Ronald Moray enchanted the audience with his magic. The presentation in eveninggowns was graced by Esther Pierweijer and during the whole show we saw Joes as "Kruimeltje". "Kruimeltje" is the new musical at the Efteling about a naughty streetboy. The Ball was complete with the dancegroup True Skillz. The audience was great, there were fans for all the girls and they all were heard loudly during the whole pageant. The jury had to select 5 finalists during the first 2 rounds of competition: presentation and bikini. The audience had the honour to select the 6th finalist. There were 7 judges present and there was also an international jury consisting of 13 pageant watchers from all over the world and the winner of the international jury last year Shanna Moes. Each judge (including the international jury) had the opportunity to select 6 girls as their favorite for the finals. So one girl could get the maximum of 8 points. The 5 girls with the most points and the audience favorite became a finalist and one step closer to the crown. So the fairytale continues ...each of the 6 finalists had to answer two questions, one in dutch and one in english, to convince the jury that she could proudly wear the crown and represent the Netherlands at the Miss Universe pageant, the Miss World pageant and the Miss Earth pageant this year. After the questions the jury left for their final decision. But before the final results were announced, 2 awards from misshollandnow were presented: the Misshollandnow Cyberchoice Award to Sevtap Ergec and for the first time the MissHollandnow Lifetime Achievement Award to Nanny Verwey Nielen. After this president of the jury, Addy van den Krommenacker, announced the top 3: 2 girls were excited and one girl was ecstatic! Desiree van den Berg is Miss Nederland 2010 and the Cinderella of this fairytale, her dream came true... This is not the end, but the beginning of another fairytale... |
