Week 41 Angela van den Broek made the semi-finals15-10-2011 The first Miss Asia Pacific was a huge succes for the Netherlands. Many thought that Angela would make the semi-finals and she did! The pageant was won by one of the 2 delegates from Korea, Park Sae Byul . A lot went wrong according to the blogs about this pageant. Stil we are very proud of Angela. They are in the "Fashion" team together with Hollands next Topmodel 2006 first runner-up Sylvia Geersten and Society woman Judith Osborne. At this time Kelly Weekers is in Istanbul for some fashion shows. For Kelly it was a week with the first preperations for the Miss Universe pageant in Sao Paulo. She was the surprise of the Miss Nederland 2011 pageant, Jill Duijves. Jill is also like Jill de Robles the first woman to win the Miss Nederland from her provincy, Flevoland. Week 6  | |  | No girls from the north? 12-02-2011 Where are the girls from the north? Girls from the 3 northern provincies in the Netherlands show no interest in beauty pageants. The three northern provincies, Friesland, Groningen en Drenthe have a problem as no girls from these provincies seem to enter the Miss Nederland 2011 pageant. We hope that all these media attention will push some girls to registrate. Miss Nederland 2010 Desiree van den Berg told all about her Miss Nederland adventures at "KoffieMax" where she was a guest together with Corinne Rottshafer Miss Holland 1957, Miss Europe 1957 and Miss World 1959. Week 5  | |  | |  | Miss Nederland 2011 05-02-2011 This photograph of Miss Nederland 2010, Desiree van den Berg, portrays the look and feel of the Miss Nederland 2011 pageant. Last week the first official licence-holders meeting was held at the Farouk Systems' headquarters in Amersfoort. Among the licence-holders we find last years member of jury of Miss Nederland, Rosanna Kluivert-Lima, who together with model and tv host Anouk Smulders and Irene de Kom-Avogadri (the Class Company), organising Miss Utrecht and Miss Gelderland. Another familiar face we find in Bouktje Boerma, Miss Friesland 2008, in the team of Miss Friesland and Miss Groningen. And ofcourse your own webhosts Robin and Stefan Hoven Lieuw Choy for Miss Drenthe. Also present was Miss Nederland 2010, Desiree van den Berg and Mark van Toren, general manager for Farouk Systems Europe. Kim Kötter and Dagmar Pijnappels, from the Miss Nederland organisation, and organising Miss Overijssel and Miss Brabant were the moderators for this meeting. We will keep you updated and soon the pictures of the meeting. | | Shareena Dwarka ambassador for SEVA 05-02-2011 Miss India Holland 2010, Shareena Dwarka, is appointed as ambassador for SEVA. This organsation wants to create 25 enterprises this year in the countries they already operate in. The mission of the SEVA Network foundation is to fight poverty and to promote social economic emancipation of marginalised populations in underdeveloped countries. The word SEVA means: selfless service. One of the countries where SEVA wants to start with these enterprises is Suriname. Farmers in Suriname already benefit from the credit facilities offered by SEVA. Shareen Dwarka is from surinamese indian descent. She already attended the new years meeting and she wants to contribute and participate in the projects from SEVA. | | Madilon Bos 05-02-2011 Finalist of Miss Nederland 2010, Madilon Bos, is a very populair model al over the world. She is one of the favorite models for make-up brand Kryolan for fair skin. We have spotted her in many issues of the Kryolan magazine "Make-Up". She even graced one of the covers. Kryolan is the official make-up sponsor for Miss Universe. Madilon had different photo spreads in magazines like "Jackie" and "Grazia". We also see her in many advertisements in various magazines, all over te world. But her beauty can also be seen in the tv commercial for Nespresso together with George Clooney and John Malkovich. Madilon is one of John's Angels. The clip can be seen here. Besides being a model, she is also a great make-up artist. One of her good friends is dutch playmate of the year 2004, Dorien Rose. We are sure we will hear and see a lot more of this lovely beauty queen. |

| |  | |  | Face of Holland 29-01-2011 Yesterday the first "Face of Holland" was chosen in Rotterdam. Winner is the 19 year old Jaime Joan Orle. This model competition celebrates all dutch girls with their different ethnic backgrounds. One of the founders of this competition is Roberto Dresia (on picture with winner), a famous visagist from the Netherlands who has been the visagist for many Miss Nederland pageants in the past. One of the judges was Nathalie den Dekker, Miss Tourism International 2010/2011. | | As promised... 29-01-2011 She was one of the 12 participants at the Miss Nederland 2010 pageant: Karin de Boer. She did not make the top 6 but head of the judges at the pageant, Addie van den Krommenacker, promised her that she could be in one of his shows as a calkwalk diva. Last week it was already the second time that Karin would make the catwalk for Addie. She was seen at the annual Amsterdam International Fashion Week showing beautiful dresses from the maestro. Her first appearance was at the Miljonair Fair last year. | | Mrs Globe 2011 29-01-2011 A new year means new Beauty Queens. One of the first to start with castings is the Miss and Mrs Globe pageant. The pageants is now divided in two parts. One part for women from 22 till 45 years old and one part for women from 18 till 22 years old. Last year Kim Schurink was selected as Miss Globe and participated in the International Miss Globe pageant where she reached the semi-finals. Later she became the 2nd runner-up at the Mrs Globe pageant. |
Week 3 | |  | |  | Fiet and Condoms 19-01-2011 It was national "Voorleesdag" (bookreading day). Both Miss Nederland 2010, Desiree van den Berg and national director and Miss Universe Netherlands 2002, Kim Kötter were asked to read a childrens book at primary schools. Desiree read the book "Fiet wil rennen"(Fiet wants to run). This book has won several prices like the Best Picturebook in the Netherlands in 2011 and the Silver Graft in 2010. This book is written for toddlers. Desiree did the reading in her own hometown. Kim Kötter had to read for older children, so the book that Kim read had a more "mature" subject. The title of the book is "Hoe overleef ik mijn vriendje" (How do I survive my boyfriend). The book is about children in their puberty and the problems they have to face like how to use a condom and beïng gay.... | | Miss Nederland 2011 22-01-2011 Who will become Miss Nederland 2011? Will we have one girl representing the Netherlands at the Miss Universe, Miss World and Miss Earth pageant or will there be 2 or 3....??? One thing is for sure, the provincial pageants are back! So we will have 12 candidates at the Miss Nederland 2011 finals. Robin and Stefan from MissHollandNow are the official organisers for Miss Drenthe 2011, the province where Stefan was born and raised. The finals of this pageant are on Mother's day, sunday may 8th at "De Bonte Wever" in Assen, Stefan's birthplace. The dates for the other provincial finals are not yet known, keep an eye on our agenda...!!! For participating: www.missnederland.nl | | Our fifth Year 22-01-2011 This is the fifth year that MissHollandNow is on air. 2010 has been the most succesful year so far for our website. The dutch girls did very well, many awards were won and several girls were placed as semi-finalists or runner-ups. The highlights were: Miss Nederland 2010, Desiree van den Berg became a semi-finalist at Miss World for the first time since 2002 and also the first dutch semi-finalist at the Miss Earth pageant. Queen of the Benelux 2010, Noran Mostafa became first runner-up at the Queen of the World pageant, while Queen of the Netherlands, Anke Jabroer became a semi-finalist. Most succesful was Nathalie den Dekker, who represented the Netherlands at several pageants and won many awards but the cherry on the cake was winning the crown of Miss Tourism International 2010/2011 on december 31st 2010. In july we will have our fifth anniversary with lots of surpises... |
