Last week 31 girls were welcomed by the Xanadu resort in Belek, Turkey for the final of Miss BeNeLux 2010 beauty pageant. Last year we saw Sabrina Anijs win the crown for the Netherlands in a show that was dominated by the dutch girls. This year we saw again a very strong group from the Netherlands. From the start of the show we noticed that Jelena Petrova was a favorite among the audience. Everytime she entered the stage the crowd applauded loudly. With all her experience as a beauty queen and photomodel she was a serious contender for the crown. Jelena won the Miss Photogenic award and she placed first runner-up in the end. Another favorite was tall Maud Wagemans. Many people thought that she would take the crown. She won a crown, but not the Miss BeNeLux crown but the Miss Charity crown, last year won by Eva van Binsbergen. After several rounds of competition, Stephanie Moreel announced the four runner-ups before calling the national Queens. Belgian Zaynab Debaieb ended as fourth runner-up. The third, second and first runner-up all came from the Netherlands. Preeya Shri, Maud Wagemans and Jelena Petrova in reverse order. Finally it was time for the national winners. As always first the winner from Luxemburg: Lauretta Bardoniqi won the crown. The second crown was for the belgian winner: Jessica van Mooreghem. And who will win the crown for the Netherlands and will be Miss Earth Netherlands 2010? Still some of the dutch girls could win. Miss Moreel waited for a few seconds and then called Nathalie den Dekker as the winner for the Netherlands. But who would get the Miss BeNeLux crown? We didn't have to wait that long. Jessica van Moorleghem, Miss BeNeLux Belgium won the 2010 edition of Miss BeNeLux. She is the second girl from Belgium to win this beauty pageant. But our winner was Nathalie who had tears of joy all night........ |
