Miss Universe Netherlands 1991, Paulien Huizinga appears daily on dutch televison. In the program "Zo vader, zo puberzoon" (like father, like adolescent son) Paulien has to guess who is the son or daughter of the parent. Jelena Petrova can be seen on december 30th at the AVRO televison program "Take it or Leave it". Together with Ruben Nicolia she will look back at the year 2009.

Simwayn Tran is Miss China Europe...

Dutch Simwayn Tran has been chosen as Miss China Europe. Simwayn won the pageant in Scheveningen, the Netherlands. Twelve participants from The Netherlands, Germany, France, Italy and the United Kingdon participated in this pageant. Winning this title gives miss Tran a ticket to go to Hong Kong where the Miss China World pageant will be held. What started in 2000 as a Miss China Benelux pageant is now a European pageant. We wish Simwayn all the luck in the world.

She was Miss Earth Netherlands 2007, Queen of the Netherlands 2008, second runner-up at the Miss Universe Top Beauty 2008 and offcourse Miss Holland Now of the Year 2007/2008, Milou Verhoeks. She will now represent the Netherlands at the Miss Civilization of the World 2010 in Selçuk, Izmir. The pageant will be held from january 18th till the 24th of the same month. She will be the third girl to represent the Netherlands in this turkish pageant. Eva van Binsbergen won in 2008 and Saadia Himi was unplaced in 2009.
Miss Gibraltar is Miss World...

She was the first Miss Gibraltar to be a semi-finalist and now she is also the first one to win the Miss World pageant. Kaiane Aldorino won the prestigious swimsuit fast track event and that gave her a a ticket for the semi-finals. First runner-up is Miss Mexico and second runner-up is the homegirl, Miss South Africa. The last two were also favorites for the crown. Miss Nederland Avalon-Chanel did a great job in Johannesburg but failed to place for the semi-finals.

We just heard that two dresses have been stolen from Miss Nederland her suitcase last saturday. One of the dresses is the dress for the final show on saturday. Also the suitcase from Miss Brasil was plundered. We are anxious to find out how Avalon will look in her new dress which has been designed in just one weekend by Greg and Cora from Laurisa Inspired.

Miss Model of the World 2009 is won by Miss France, the 20 year old Emene Nyame. Emene was special selected by the president of the Miss France committee Geneviève de Fontanay to represent France at this pageant. Last year Emene was Miss Flanders at the Miss France pageant and she was eliminated very early in the pageant wich infuriated mrs de Fontanay. Veronika Vovchuk from Ukraine won the Queen of the World pageant last week. The finalshow was in Berlin. First runner-up is Miss China and second runner-up is Dominican Republic. Quen of the Netherlands Inger de Jonge did not place as a semi-finalist. The dutch francise holder for the Queen of the Netherlands Milou Verhoeks was one of the judges.

Inger de Jonge, Queen of the Netherlands 2009 is in Berlin to represent the Netherlands at the Queen of the World pageant 2009. On the picture we can see her on top, second from the right.
The final will be on december 3rd. We hope that Inger will be a semifinalist like Milou Verhoeks was last year. Milou is the franciseholder for the Queen of the Netherlands pageant. It is Inger her second international pageant. Last year she was one of the dutch finalsists at the Miss BeNeLux pageant won by Sabrina Anijs.
Another girl from the Netherlands is participating in the Queen 2009 pageant. It is Djamila Melcherts who was already Queen of the Netherlands in 2007 and is now Queen of the Benelux. In 2007 she was unplaced. It is the second big pageant for Djamila this year. Last month she was in Albania to be Miss Globe the Netherlands at the Miss Globe international pageant. Yesterday there were two big finals for two international pageants: Miss Earth and Mrs World. Miss Earth was won by Miss Brasil, Larissa Ramos. Mrs World was won by Mrs Russia Victoria Radochinskaya (on the picture). The dutch delegates, Sabrina Anijs and Krista Hoeijmans, did not get in to the semi-finals. We hope both did have a great time and we will inform you on how it all was for the two of them.

Important message for (starting) models and beauty queens: On november 28th and 29th the fashion/model magazine "Face & Figure" hosts a beauty event for models and beauty queens at the Amsterdam World Fashion Centre from 10.00 hs till 17.00 hs. It will be an event with castings, workshops, catwalktraining by Mariana Verkerk (Hollands & Benelux Next Topmodel), international model searches, shows & demonstrations. Also on the event is the 3rd edition of the model convention. On both days there will be a stand from the Queen of the Netherlands beauty pageant. This will be a unique way to enter the pageant and who knows even get to the second round of the castings. On sunday the event will be visited by the Miss Nederland organisation. Vandana Biere is crowned Miss India Holland 2009. After a great show in the World Forum C.C. in The Hague Vandana was chosen by a jury wich included Miss India World Wide 2009 Nikkitasha Marwaha and Miss Nederland 2008 Deniz Akkoyun. The show was hosted by Miss India Holland 2007 Suraya Baboeram Panday and Narsingh Balwantsingh. Another guest was Reshma Roopram, Miss Universe Netherlands 2001. Go here for more photos.

Last year Marijke represented the Netherlands at the Miss Intercontinental beauty pageant and the Miss Global Beauty Queen pageant. Again the victory for Miss Venezuela! Hannelys Quintero, semi-finalist at the Miss World pageant last year has won the Miss Intercontinental 2009 beauty pageant in Belarus. Next weekend will be a busy one... Two new Queen will be crowned. Miss BeNeLux 2010 will be crowned in Turkey on sunday october 4th october. Today we met with Miss BeNeLux 2009 Sabrina Anijs who is preparing for the Miss Earth 2009 pageant. The new Miss BeNeLux Netherlands will represent the Netherlands at the 2010 Miss Earth pageant. Two girls left the pageant: Sanya Tuharea and Merel van Kooten. On friday 2nd we will know who will go to the 2009 Queen of the World pageant as the new Queen of the Netherlands will be crowned by Milou Verhoeks, Queen of the Netherlands 2008 and also the francise holder for the Queen pageant in the Netherlands. After 31 Years...

They didn't see each other in 31 years, Miss Holland 1978, Karin Ingrid Gustafsson (right) and her first runner-up, Ans van Haaster (left). They met on Ibiza the island where Karin lives today. Ans was there for a holiday, she lives on Bali.
In 1978 Ans respresented the Netherlands at the Miss World pageant where she was a favorite among the photographers. Karin went to Mexico where she placed as a semi-finalist at the Miss Universe pageant. She also went to Japan for the Miss International pageant, where she was unplaced. For the Miss World Netherlands organisation it is a hard start. Their first Miss World Netherlands Carmen Kool is also their first miss that caused a huge scandal by posing nude for Playboy magazine. Just after a few days the organisation decided to dethrown Carmen Kool. Carmen Kool is no longer Miss World Netherlands. Carmen herselve is not upset at all: "The organisation did nothing for me, so I did it myself!" No new girl will be crowned, so we have one month without a Miss World Netherlands.

Will Carmen be dethroned...?

The nude photos of Carmen Kool, Miss World Netherlands, in Playboy magazine caused a real scandal in the Netherlands. The Miss World Netherlands organisation will have nothing to do with this action done by Miss Carmen. They even consider dethrowing her. In a reaction to that Carmen says: "I am very dissapionted in the organisation..." . We will wait for the next episode in this affaire. Will Carmen be dethroned just a few weeks before the new Miss World Netherlands will be crowned. According to the organisation a new Miss World Netherlands will be crowned in october.
Ode to Women...

On friday october 11th we were invited for the opening of the exposition "Ode to Women" at the Kunsthallen in Rotterdam. The exposition showed beautiful paintings and sculptures made by the famous surinamese artist Erwin de Vries. Also at the opening were Sharifa Henar, Miss International finalist and Queen finalist and Preeya Shri and Salini Gobind, Miss BeNeLux finalists. Salini told us that she also had done an interview for the "Metro" that day. After we saw the exposition we talked with the three at the museum cafe and were joined by Nanny Verwey-Nielen and Miss BeNeLux 2009 Sabrina Anijs and her parents.

The current Miss World Netherlands Carmen Kool can be seen in a full nude pictorial in this months edition of the magazine. "I don't think the organisation will be very happy with this, but I like being a rebel and have nothing against nudity...".

For the first time the group Jameerah will perform in the Netherlands. The date is oktober 2nd at the big final of "The Queen of the Netherlands" pageant. The group is formed in Belgium and all members are former beauty queens or models from different countries. From the Netherlands: Miss Beautiful Black 1997 and Miss Bikini 1995, Jasmine Sendar, from Belgium, Miss Belgium 1998, Tanja Dexters, also from Belgium: model Elisa Guarraci and from Germany: Miss Germany 2007, Nelly Marie Bojahr. This saterday, september 12th, the big final for the Miss International Netherlands 2009 will be held at Claus Party centre in Hoofddorp. Tickets are 45 euro and does not only give you acces to the show but also a buffet and two drinks. The doors open at 19.00 hour and the show will start at 20.00 hour. Last weekend Nathalie won the Miss Cyber Choice for the Miss BeNeLux 2010 pageant here on www.misshollandnow.com. Miss den Dekker is also on tour. Yesterday she was in Zundert at the annual Flower Parade (see picture). But also the kermis at Tilburg, the Breda Jazz Festival and the farewell party for the ambassador of Russia were visited by this lovely Miss BeNeLux finalist. Nathalie was also heared on air at the lokal radiostation "Radio Brabant". Nathalie is on track!

The winner of the Miss International poll is Rizlan. She had 246 votes. second runner-up is Eveline with 183 votes while Martje, who had a very stron start ended in third position with 145 votes. Rizlan is now one of the finalist for Miss International Netherlands 2009.

Salinie Gobind was a very strong contender, in fact she was the last few weeks in the lead. Jelena Petrova ended in a beautiful third position. Again Miss Venezuela!! For the second year in a row Miss Venezuela wins the Miss Universe title. So we want to congratulate Stefania with this unique accomplishment as no country has ever won the Miss Universe pageant two years in a row.
We were very surprised that "the face of the pageant" our own Miss Netherlands Avalon-Chanel Weyzig did not even make the semi finals. We are very proud of Avalon as for the first time in years the Netherlands were very noticed at the biggest pageant in the world. Many believed she would make it to the semi finals or even the finals. We are also very proud of Kim Kötter who made this all possible and who won the best national director award handed out by "Missosology". We know that we will be there next year!!! So watch out for the Netherlands people of the universe!!

Last week Sharifa Henar, finalist at the Queen of the Netherlands 2009 was hostes at the Bavaria City Racing event in Rotterdam. She met with many celebritys Gordon and Birgit Lewis. But also many beauty Queens were at this event. On the picture we see Sharifa on the right with Miss Nederland 1998 Nerene Ruinemans. Miss BeNeLux 2010 finalist Bojoura Verwey won last saterday the modelcontest organized by SLAM!FM. She won a LCD television, a cheque worth 250 euro to buy clothes from" Air Force" and a photoshoot. We are ofcourse a huge fan of Miss Netherlands Avalon-Chanel Weyzig! Since the start of this website she is just the second Miss Netherlands we follow at the Miss Universe pageant. But it is this year a real pleasure to be the host of this website. As we see that we are not the only fans of Miss Weyzig. Many believe that she is a front runner! Our gala reporter Nanny, Miss Holland 1976 was this week at the premiere of the show "Cirque Stiletto" . The Grand Lady of the show is Ellen ten Damme. At the after party Nanny met several people like the sister of Ingrid Schouten (Miss Holland 1981) and Monica Strottman (Miss Holland 1971 & 1972). She also met with Jasmine Sendar, Miss Black Holland 1997. Jasmine is currently singing with the beauty queen/model group "Jameerah". They have a hit in Belgium with the song "All eyes on me"...

Today Avalon-Chanel will leave for the Bahamas. We were at one of het last preperations last thursday. In Uithoorn we saw Miss Universe Netherlands in her national costume. This sunday she will show it to the world! We also talked with Miss Universe Germany Martina Lee. Martina also came to Uithoorn to see her national costume and her evening gown, both designed by Laurisa inspired. Avalon wore dresses by Addy van de Krommenacker, who will design the evening gown for the Miss Universe pageant. Both the girls showed dresses designed by Laurisa Inspired and swimwear from Rosa. Last year they designed the "Windmill" for Melanie de Laat as national costume for the Miss Earth 2008 pageant. Brenda Gerlofsma is one of the dutch finalists for the Miss BeNeLux 2009 pageant. Brenda organised a benefit for KIKA (the childrens cancer fund). Although the profits were only 230 euro, Rien Schimmel from Kika was very happy with the whole evening. He is very happy with people like Brenda and he sure hopes she will continue the good work. Who will be Miss Universe Netherlands 2009? We haven't seen so much attention in the media for Miss Universe since the early 90's. We have seen Kim on television programs like RTL7 Businesclass, RTL Boulevard and today she will appear in Shownews on SBS6. The populair DJ Giel Beelen from 3FM radio has been covering the search for Miss Universe Netherlands 2009 on the radio. Kim Brouwer was a finalist at the 2009 Miss BeNeLux pageant and now she is Prinses (Princess)of Amsterdam. This pageant was organised by the local TV, AT5. At first the pageant would take place on April 30th, but due to the tragedy that happened on that day the pageant was delayed till May 21st. The first price is a photoshoot for FHM magazine. We hope that the Prinses van Amsterdam pageant will be a tradition as the Miss Amsterdam pageant used to be.

"I saw Wesley Sneyder (Dutch soccer player) on a date with Melissa Sneekes a day after he was seen with Yolanthe. Yolanthe was big news earlier this week when her relationship with singer Jan Smit was broken after 2,5 years. It was a big shock in the Netherlands with a lot of media attention. For Wesley it was just a fun date with Yolanthe as a day later he was spotted with Mïss Nederland 2007 by Jort Kelder. Jort was a judge at the 2008 Miss Nederland pageant. It is not the first soccer player Melissa has been dating. Last year Melissa was big news when she was seen with Ryan Babel. They met during a photoshoot for a magazine. The difference with Wesley is that Ryan was married at the time of dating and Wesley is single. We will soon find out if it is gossip or a true story...

Miss Overijssel 1996, Tooske (Breugem) Ragas and a television host for SBS6 can be seen in the Linda. The photographer of the beautiful pictures is her husband Bastiaan Ragas. Bastiaan was the host of the Miss Nederland pageant last year. Also in the magazine an one-page interview with Tatjana Simic about falling in love when one is over 40.

In 1984 the sexy girl group "Centerfold" was born. They were very populair in the 80's with songs like "Dictator" and "Radar Love". Today the new "Centerfold" will be introduced in "Life and Cooking". Their first single will be on sale tomorrow and is called "Take me". One of the three Centerfolds is Rachel Wijsman, Miss Beautiful Black 2004 and finalist at the Miss Universe Netherlands 2003.

Milou Verhoeks will be in V-Fabulous, a show on www.veronica.nl. The broadcasting will start today. We can reveal that our Miss Holland Now of the Year 2007/2008 will be in the final three. These three girls will appear in the videoclip "Dat weet je" from Dre Hazes. On the picture we see Milou on the right next to Dre Hazes.

She was Miss Beautiful Black 1997/1998 and Miss Bikini 1995, Jasmine Sendar. Together with Miss Belgium 1998, Tanja Dexters, Miss Germany 2007, Nelly Bojahr and 6th ru at Topmodel from Belgium, Elisa Guaracci, will she be singing in the new girl group Jameerah. The group will be introduced at the international film festival in Cannes on may 20th. We will keep you updated.

Daphne Romani is Miss Italia Olanda 2009! It was an evening filled with international titles. Not only Miss Olanda was crowned but also Miss Italia Benelux (Marisa de Martino), Miss Italia Indonesia (Lucia Machiné) and Miss Italia Chech Republic. Two girls from abroad had to compete against themselves for a ticket to Jesolo. The jury was impressed by the girl from the Chech Republic but not by the girl from Sweden.
From the beginning till the end it was clear that Daphne had a big chance to win the main title of the evening. Her runners up are Sara Stabile and Jessica Toldo. Soon a complete report on the evening. We have to congratulate the Miss Italia Olanda organisation with an excellent evening: Complimentie!!

When you are 45 and look like Tatjana Simic changes are that you are FHM material. Now for sale the FHM with Tatjana (Miss Panorama 1984) on the cover. In this edition a special on the 80's that includes the last sexy pictures made from this lovely singer/actres, at least that is what she told the media in the Netherlands. Last year Evita represented the Netherlands at the Miss University and at the Miss Tourism Planet. In 2007 she also went to several pageants. At this moment Evita is in China for the Miss Beauty and Model contest. Miss Vervuurt wrote us that she was already selected to be in one of the largest talkshows in China. At first it was not clear what the act would be but now we can reveal that Melissa will promote her single together with DJ Double L. Manon is at this time host of the morning televisionshow "RTL Vandaag" (RTL Today). Saadia Himi who represented the Netherlands at the 2009 Miss Civilization of the World did not make it to the finals. Saadia was a favorite among the audience and among the other girls. The winner is Miss Germany.

Miss Universe Netherlands 1991 Paulien Huizinga will be back after 10 years on dutch television. She is asked by Paul de Leeuw to be in the panel of the tv prgramm called in dutch "Zo vader , zo puberzoon" (Like father like puberty son). In this program the panel has to gues from several boys who is the real son of one father.
Today the very sympathetic Paulien is 38 years old, mother of three and married to the very rich Michiel Mol. She started her television carreer with the very famous "Show Nieuws" which she hosted together with Albert Verlinde.

Today we were in The Dorint Hotel at Schiphol for the casting for Miss BeNelux 2010. We met with Miss BeNeLux 2009 Sabrina Anijs and Miss BeNeLux Netherlands 2008 Melanie de Laat who were judges together with Stephanie Moreel and Monique Lacluyse-Moreel from the Miss BeNeLux organisation. Among the participants we saw some familiar faces. In the end 20 girls made it to the finals for the Netherlands. The names will be revealed in the end of may. Saadia Himi, Miss Earth Netherlands 2004 and a very good friend of the website will represent the Netherlands at the 2009 Miss Civilization pageant in Turkey. The final will be on march 7th in Gaziantep.
