BREAKING NEWS: 26-10-2009 An important day in the World of beautyqueens in the Netherlands. After 20 years Hans Konings is no longer the owner of the title "Miss Nederland". The new owner is Kim Kötter. Hans Konings says: "With Kim as the new owner, the title will be in good hands as she is a beautyqueen herself". From now on there will be one Miss Nederland who will represent the Netherlands at the Miss Universe pageant, the Miss World pageant and the Miss Europe pageant. With this news we also kan name Avalon-Chanel Weyzig the new Miss Nederland 2009. Avalon will leave november 6th to London to prepare together with over 100 other gilrs from around the world for the Miss World pageant in Johannesburg, South Africa. The final will take place on December 12th. Avalon will take the crown from her two predecessors, Deniz Akkoyun, Miss Nederland 2008 and Leonie Tuip, Miss World Netherlands 2008. Leoni took the crown just last month as the original winner, Carmen Kool was dethroned because she posed nude for Playboy magazine during her reign. So for the first time since 1988/1989 one girl will represent Holland at the two most prestigious beauty pageants in the World. It was Angela Visser who was unplaced at Miss World but won the Miss Universe title in 1989, whe hope Avalon will do it the other way arround as she was unplaced at he Miss Universe pageant earlier this year. |
