Miss Holland at Miss Europa

The other Miss Europe

The unofficial Miss Europe pageants, run by the Comite Officiel International Miss Europe. has not been fully documented.  It was established in 1950 by Jean Raibaut, with headquarters in Paris, France.  He unsuccessfully tried to make his pageant more prestigious than the official Miss Europe contests (run by Mondial Events Organization, also headquartered in Paris, France). 

Mondial Events Organisation sued Comite Officiel et International Miss Europe in 2000 to stop them from using the title Miss Europe.  The 2004 event seems to have been the last unofficial Miss Europe pageant. (text from www.pageantopolis.com)
